The the amount of cash thrown at the team and how they’ve performed throughout the season that one must sting! Congrats London, a solid beating on Fev’s home soil 😆

Not a shock for anyone who saw them dismantle Sheffield last week. Walker,Whare and Perata were outstanding and Corey Norman just oozed class and controlled the game. A good watch unless you’re a flat capper.

So Toulouse will be at home in the final then looks like another french team in our league next year unbelievable.

When we were in the championship the ground was neutral when did it change? Seems a little unfair to have home advantage (especially when it involves travelling to France too).

I wonder if all the new players that Fev have supposedly signed for next year will be out of contract?

Been lots of rumours about who Fev have signed for next season but not much has been confirmed,be interesting to see if they continue to invest as heavily in the squad after last nights result. The new Wakey owner has already indicated he’s prepared to spend big to get them back up so a big ask to get promotion. Not sure what Toulouse will bring to Super League next season but they’ll no doubt score well on the IMG ratings. Not sure if we’ll score higher now on catchment/community criteria now neither Wakey or Fev will be in the top flight. Big push now to get our ground refurb started at least.

Great news about fev failing again but in the long term is it good or bad in regards the IMG future?

People seem to believe that IMG only want one team in the Wakefield area so that’s good but it’s not how it works. The scoring is there to be seen and there’s only a certain amount of points shared between the teams in that area. Lots of other clubs have the same problem.

Now the positions scoring rules means a team in the championship (after winning the 1895 cup and their grand final) get more points than the super League team finishing bottom. But winning both hasn’t been done in at least 2 year I can remember.

So with a guaranteed team of either London or Toulouse coming up are they likely to be wanted more than Cas, fev and wakey? Yes, for IMG London is a must but Toulouse still gets extra eyes.

The good thing is that’s it’s in our hands to decide our destiny. Sort the ground and we are golden for a number of years.

Back to fev. Their owner has paid big money for 2 years for nothing and has moaned constantly that the fans don’t do their bit by coming out in numbers and putting money into the club via the bar etc… Can he do it again, especially when wakey are saying they will be spending big? Can the owner stay out of prison after the hammer incident? If he’s guilty it’ll cost him some coin. Will a conviction put pay to his eligibility of being an owner?

Ann interesting off season coming up. Be nice to watch from afar.

Yes, but their biggest game in years. Just interested to see what their potential support is compared to us and Wakey.

I had my usual Sunday evening in the Travs in Fev last night as I love a bit of Karaoke but it’s fair to say, they weren’t singing anymore.

And, after berating Cas in 2017 for winning ‘nothing’, I can’t help but think Karma has struck once more.

I’m still chuckling to myself…

Maturecasfan I would but it’s banned. Nearly caused a riot last time I sang it, and it wasn’t just the quality of my voice.

I see London continued in the same vein this weekend, great win in Tolouse. No doubt they’ll be strengthening for next season. The “old git” in me is happy, but then I’ve never been one for forward thinking and have never believed there should be a French team in Super League let alone two.

Agree. Even 1 French team ( or any team not based in this country ) in our English SL is one to many.

Congratulations and welcome back to SL.

I never had an issue with Catalans joining the league and to be fair they’ve grown in to a formidable team, the problem is there has been very little in terms of growing the sport in France (from an outsider perspective anyway). Ideally the long term plan should have included a professional French league being created with the idea that Catalans (and Toulouse) would join once it reached a position to support them.

If Toulouse were promoted and managed to stick around in SL what happens if another French club formed and they came knocking on the door of promotion (or whatever IMG has planned in the future) and at what point does it become a problem.

Rugby League in France suffers as we do by being played in a narrow geographical area and efforts to expand it into the Union heartland have always failed. The League/Union divide in France is massive based on decades of politics, the Vichy government actually banned Rugby League as it was seen as a symbol of professionalism and anyone involved was given a lifetime ban. Something that has never been forgotten by either side. My dad regaled me with stories of how he donned a Cas shirt after the War when we played a couple of matches over there. Participation by the French was seen as an act of political rebellion rather than a sporting fixture.

I write like a trip to London to watch Cas. Cheaper than Toulouse.
