we live in hope, what a useless lump
Getting difficult to keep up with. So where are we now with quota spots. We have Horne and Tasipale under contract for 2024,rumoured incoming Namo and Putt, that’s four. Not sure where we are with Austin,I believe he’s a free agent at season end,not sure on Miller, wouldn’t be a loss for me. The Iro deal looking less likely which is a shame and we’re in talks with the Lebanese prop from Oz. Next couple of weeks might help unmuddy the waters.
rumoured austin signed 2 year deal with feth??
Edwards retiring end of the season.
Maturecasfan Not sure he waited to the end of the season to be fair.
We seem to have a lot more leaving than arriving.
Your not wrong.
To be fair to whoever is in charge of this cull, the 12 Matt named fall into 3 categories 1) Not good enough 2) Would be good enough but spend too much time in the treatment room and 3) Were good enough once but have had their day. Eden aside who has never lost his finishing ability and for me would be worth another year, just not 2 years if that was the sticking point,of the rest I can see why they’re going. Most of us were calling for the deadwood to be cleared, yes it’s a radical even ruthless overhaul, but in financial and playing terms we couldn’t go on as we were. The Redford/Last episode was dire, no more! We have some half decent youngsters, a smattering of quality and some guys who while they’ll never be world beaters are solid enough performers. If I hear Westy or Macca are going I may change my mind but for now I’m just gonna enjoy the ride, but it’s certainly got us all talking.
Hepworth completely agree in relation to the ones leaving. In the matches played and when they’ve played well, there’s only Eden in credit. Lots of potential but that doesn’t win you games.
I would have liked to have seen Hudson but he’s been injured. I’d have liked to have seen feki but you know the rest…. This year we’ve carried players like Hudson, Richardson and McClelland, we can’t keep doing that.
The club in the shape of nickolay et al have seen these players all year and some of them 2 years and a decision has been made. I’m happy with that.
I think there’s more to go. Vete surely, maybe widdop (if Edwards is retiring, widdop hat played even less this season but many more throughout his career).
The rest are probably signed up or I’m certainly hoping so. It gives us a lot of cap to play with. The only problem being that Leeds, hull and others are also rebuilding.
So Miller,Tasipale,Vete,Edwards and Horne are our contracted overseas players for next season. We know Edwards is retiring,to lose Vete from that list we would have to come to some agreement with him. Without him we have three spots free, if Namo and Putt are confirmed we are down to one. So the question is do we bring in the overseas prop,or try and retain Austin? Or better still bite the bullet, pay off Vete and get them both.
stuey the 4 loan signings are also leaving - so 16 out and not many in.
glad to see the back of them all!
Ditto yorky.
well i watched Doncaster & north wales on sunday & what on earth is Vete thinking. he looks so fat i cant believe we are paying him so i just hope he will join the exodus with the rest of them

Vete has a contract but if he’s not fit enough to play, got to look at getting rid. It’s a pity as he’s got talent.
