BUT…..The Tigers are now just waiting on approval of the Axiom proposals as well.

Another delay, as surely we can not start on our ground improvements until the Axiom proposals are passed.

    Approved.
But, it now as to go to government for review with it being on green belt land.
God knows how long that will take.
Surely the stadium can be started, which isn’t on green belt.

Maturecasfan Axiom won’t release the money until the tenants for the warehousing are signed up, which won’t happen before full approval is achieved.

Maturecasfan No idea on either. The design of the warehousing could change to either several smaller units or one bigger one providing the development stays within the parameters of the outline permission. That happened at Newmarket with the Amazon warehouse. Final designs will be submitted as reserved matters, which is really a box ticking exercise. It will all be about the money generated, once it becomes profitable they’ll want it building quickly. And the speed they have moved this last couple of months makes me think something is lined up in the background.

TheFirm just thinking about this. The initial application was sent to sos back on 2010, did the change of use at Newmarket go to sos aswell? The change from council sports facility to warehouses. I seem to think there’s was sent and returned because they were paid out very quickly by the Newmarket people.

RaoulDuke No only the original application was called in. The length in time between the two meant the policy had become more ‘relaxed’ by the time of the change of use application. Hopefully the same will apply to us and to be honest i don’t see any reason why it shouldn’t.

TheFirm thanks for that. I take it the 28 days for the sos to either start an enquiry or pass it back is relevant for us or is that tosh?

RaoulDuke Could be wrong but i’m not sure the 28 days thing is a thing. I think the aim is to make the decision in that amount of time but i don’t think it is a ststutory requirement as such. I recall them taking about 9 or 10 months over the Leeds/Bradford airport decison before calling it in.

                  17 days later

Heard a bit of noise that the application isn’t getting called in by the s.o.s. and has been passed back to the council. Hopefully it is true and it’s another hurdle overcome.

Maturecasfan Hopefully (if correct) an official announcement will follow and then the minutes ok’d at the next meeting and the application passed decision issued. Providing (as it seems it has been) everything has been done by the book then there will be no recourse by the objectors for judicial review. Then it’s really over to Axiom and have they sold that warehousing space.

                    This would be excellent news.

In regards to the next steps….

The plans are very technical as seen on the portal and I’d assume they were ready or very nearly for a build.

GMI, who gave the information at the supporters meeting a coup of years ago will be doing the build, as they are the Axiom site. Economies of scale will mean a cheaper build than the stadium on its own. I was also under the impression that we’d get a full build for 2m plus their 12.2m. If there’s any change (there never is) would be GMIs. So no cutting back like the 1.5 stands at wakey.

Great to see everything in more detail and whenever it’s finished it will be fit for purpose. Having watched matches since the early sixties and seeing very little change it would be great to see the old girl in her Sunday best.

Wet don’t know how long it will be before the money is paid but it has to be good news that they are still updating plans preparing for final submission ie final fix stuff like plug placement.

It makes sense that they would build both at the same time. So I guess we are waiting for plans for the Axiom site to be added.

Unless we get the ground improvements done by the end of the season we are in the Championship next season as there will be 12, or even 14 clubs, with a higher grading. We need to get started pdq and there is no chance of that happening, as we are still awaiting final approval for the Axiom part of it. It could be months before we even start the work on the ground improvements.
