yorky Simple answer is no idea, once planning is passed it could be days or it could be months before an announcement. Only Axiom know that and anybody that says otherwise (particularly the clueless Wakey fans) is just making it up. One thing i do know though is they’ll want it started as soon as possible, time is money.

yorky yes but Axiom get a type of pending stamp. Just like the wakey deal, theres be given once the money has been transferred to the tigers building account. No payment, then their planning will be refused. I think that’s why it’s called a hybrid application.

The difference between this and the wakey one is the fact that we’ve given up our right for a new build at Glasshoughton for the refurb.

The council gave wakey money from another build unconnected with their failed build to get their 1 and a half stands.

Both have the same deal. The builders pay the money into an account that they can’t touch, for them to get planning on the land.

From the directors meeting when the new deal was put forward, they had deal(s) ready to go. Certainly one of the companies that is local, wants to stay in the area and hasn’t built anything significant to facilitate its moving elsewhere. How long it takes is anyone’s guess, like has been said it might be on the day of the planning committee meeting for it to come out or longer.

Whilst every journey begins with the first step, this is simply another single step on what remains a long journey…

FlatCapper Once passed the remaining length of the journey is in Axioms hands and it is in their interest for that joirney to be as quick as possible.

TheFirm damn straight. They could have used many reasons to pull out. They could simply have refused to pander to the EA and run away but they’ve kept spending money.

The actual cost of the Cas rebuild is less than the cost of changing the motorway roundabout at j32. To them it’s relatively cheap especially when the end game for them is the profit at Glasshoughton.

        4 days later

The updated plans are on the portal now showing what each room does. I’m more than impressed.

Extra boxes, lots of changing rooms and the medical stuff. Players areas and staff offices.

        Is going to be fantastic.

yes i had a look at many of teh documents & they seem to have covered every need & facility in depth & if it comes off it will be a very good stadium.

Yes it will. When you out it side to side with the wakey development, we’ve certainly got the better deal. It just needs to come off.

the only thing I’m a tad disappointed with is that it is still in many people’s eyes a “small pitch” & i get sick of hearing people going on about it.

yorky I’m with you on this but what annoys me more is that I see some other SL pitches that have also had the lines adjusted to, presumably, accommodate a shorter pitch. Hull’s being the most notable.

Yes other clubs do it and nothing is said. Our ground is within permitted rules. It works be nice but I didnt think we could fit it in and certainly not within our financial scope.

And you know what, I don’t understand why we aren’t the king of 40/20s. Or why other clubs can’t do it more often.

But it is what it is, the same playing field for both teams.

Yup,Sky as ever will be trotting out the usual “short pitch” rubbish, almost guaranteed it gets a mention in the first ten minutes. There would be some scope to gain a few extra yards by pushing back the railway end but the additional capacity that would give us would no doubt be outweighed by the additional costs. The plans as is look great if they come to fruition, and fingers crossed I’ll be around long enough to enjoy them, but I definitely feel more optimistic than I did at the end of last season.

                Jepson now owns the stadium/land.

I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s fronting the cash to do the build ASAP then the eventual money from Axiom be owed to him.

Maturecasfan It would look like he owns the land and stadium but the club have security of tenure. That aside their could be many permutations, none of which we’re privy to, though as a private limited company with shareholders Companies House have to be notified of any material changes in share holding or ownership. As this hasn’t happened I’d assume the ownership of Castleford Tigers PLC hasn’t changed, and if it does it will very quickly be put into the public domain. Having said all that it would appear Mr Jepsons involvement and influence is ever growing.
