Having read this, they are in real trouble. How they get to 13.80 points in the IMG fiasco is unreal.

They are selling their best players to survive, they have no credit available and have exhausted all possible income streams. They get nothing from their ground apart from 92% of ticket sales. They have sucked all the money from their hardcore support.

They want the ground to be bought by the council to allow them to play on peppercorn rent and get money from the best and food sales.

I can’t see any council doing this and then closing swimming pools and sports centres.

They are the tip of the iceberg mate. chasing the IMG dream will kill off 50% of the remaining clubs.
A lot of Cas fans complain about our owner and board but they have done a bloody good job keeping the club out of administration and still in existance. Give em a bit of credit for that (only a bit mind)
Of course I want more from them, we all want a billionaire daft enough to waste his money on RL but that just isnt going to happen.
It just shows that the flat pack stadium option is pants without the backing of some rich fool, they should have stayed at the Willows (fantastic to visit back in the day). Even the soccer lodgers are struggling, all 3 of them and Huddersfield are in the worst position, When Uncle Ken dies the club will follow

Have to agree, asking clubs who are already losing money to invest even more to get a nonsensical grading is rank stupidity in business terms.

I don’t like the way salford are trying to threaten the council and play the poor card. Koucash wrote off their debt ( if I remember rightly) and put them in a healthy place that they’ve squandered chasing the dream. It’s not the council’s place to save a private business.

Yes they bought it twice. I can’t see why they would spend so much and give away money to a private business that doesn’t command 2% of it’s population.

Interesting stuff, basically either the council buys them a ground and lets them play there and get food and drink monies or they’ll be unable to continue even part time. They are talking to Manchester council to try and play at the Etihad and have contacted bury to play there. So they must lose their city status.

it make you wonder why they thought paying brodie croft 300k a year on an 8 year contract made sense, yes they got rid of him for 300k but they were still happy to pay him 300 k per year

Troubling times indeed for Salford, like us they’re a club with a rich history but they can’t expect the council to keep bailing them out. I see they’ve been talking to Bury,Stockport and Man City about sharing their facilities. Possible maybe, Bury have their own financial issues so it may help both, I know Rugby has been played at Edgely Park but wasn’t without its issues and while the Joie Stadium at the Etihad is an excellent facility it has limited capacity. Downside to all of them is they’d be a travel for their fans. I’d like to see them survive but this is what can happen when your sugar daddy goes.
