Dumb last minute. 36 points behind and we gift them another 4 with a short drop-out.
The drop-out should have been booted 50 yds down field.
Basically we were stuffed!!

Maturecasfan Sadly I think that’s a fair assessment of where we are,our pack can’t make the metres you need to be competitive. The coaching staff appear to know the problem but there either aren’t the players available to fix it or when there are players like Oledzjki and the lad from Salford they simply won’t come. Only option appears to be to carry on aimless as we are or
maybe bring a couple of youngsters into the squad.
Hepworth
Or even take a look at the french league, at the moment only Catalan seem to be plucking players from there.
there must be some props out there
We have the potential there and for a good period of the match we held Saints pretty well but we lack the size to maintain it for 80 mins.
The scoreline was a blowout in the end but it’s not unfixable. A couple of big props would help to begin with and players coming back from injury would help us a lot.

Apparently we looked at Goudemand but size wise he wouldn’t add much, but you’re right we have to start exploring pools that maybe others aren’t dipping into. Even looking outside the traditional heartland for players, granted that wouldn’t help us currently but we need to be considering every option including those from the dark side (Union not Lancashire)
Saints forwards were fantastic. Lees, Walmsley and Knowles. Then to bring Paasi on was making it worse for us.
We just couldn’t make a yard in the first 20 mins or the second half.
Sometimes you have to take your medicine and we weren’t good enough for a lot of the match. Our one on one tackling was mostly poor. But Simbiken was outstanding. Rimbu, Namoand Horne also.
Saints will take some beating when at full strength.
Not had a chance to see anything of the ame as yet but was a little optimistic at HT.
From then it does seem the lack of power, that many on here have talked about, cost us. This is simply because, no matter how fit you are, if you’re trying to stop a mass that is greater than yours, it eventually takes it toll.
I’m seeing messages that say DW has made statements about how difficult it is to tempt players to Cas. Sorry cocker, but that’s your job. I could tempt folk that want to play.
Why is it so difficult though? Financially we’re in a good place, future work to the stadium will bring things up to scratch and we generally punch above our weight.
I’m also pretty sure that some props playing in the championship would be happy for regular SL too.
I’d honestly say there’s quite a few less desirable clubs that manage to recruit players without any issues.
Hull fc on verge of signing a aussie.
So can be done.
Our problem we have no quota places.
I’d try and get rid of cini, he’s garbage.
Maturecasfan Technically, neither of Hull.
This is all what I’m referring to with DW’s apparent efforts to sign players. Most SL have no problem whatsoever recruiting players and I simply cannot believe we are the odd one’s out.
As the old saying goes, if there’s a will, there’s a way.
It’s not jut the lack of props. All the press coverage about thre Saints game has related to DM’s comments about too many players only putting in ⅘ out of 10 performances. Now, yes, the players are 100% to blame for their level of performance, but who signed players with hearts the size of peas, instead of lionshearts?
Got even more interesting now that Watts has gone, freeing up even more cap space!
But no one out there to fill it.
Pay Namo off and use both his and Watts’ salary on a good Aus prop.
If the money is right the right prop will come.
Better still, pay Cini off.
If we keep paying players off there won’t be any money left to bring in new ones! We must have wasted a fortune on serverance deals over recent times.
