Given our new links with Manley,Mathew Lodge might be worth a look,he seems surplus to requirements there,plenty of experience and at 29 still got some gas in the tank. Prop still our main area of concern for me. Also have Vaedell available whose a decent second row. My worry is Cas seems to be seen as a proving ground for up and comers rather than a destination for proven NRL types.

Hepworth they’ll be marquee now but when they came over they were unwanted in the nrl. They’ve proved themselves and are outstanding.

Wigan keep the build in check as most players they have have come through their Junior set up and Wane can’t get enough of them in the England set up. That also helps financially.

RaoulDuke It’s huge being able to bring your own players through and they are probably the best at doing it. But even with that and a turnover which would be the envy of other clubs they still managed to post a loss of £1.7 million. That’s where my concern for the future of the game lies,were it not for the sugar daddies there wouldn’t be a Super League club on a sound financial footing.

Bevan, Field, Miski, Keirghan, Wardle, Leeming, Thompson, Walters, Ellis are all outsiders. 9 of the 13 on show last weekend.
They spend a lot on importing players, no wonder they are in the red to the tune of 1.7M,

stuey but the rest of the 17 and the rest of the squad are predominantly for their junior set up. So a lot more than us, saints etc…

RaoulDuke Giving out the contracts to the academy lads early this season hasn’t harmed and I understand two of the current academy/reserves will be in the First team squad for the coming season.

Hepworth we need to keep bringing in good juniors and seeing them into the first team. It’s working at the moment but we can’t let up.

Dislocated shoulder picked up against Salford i think,finished his season as needed an op. Not heard how his rehab has been going but Lingard said before the end of the season they were not going to rush him back for the last couple of games,that would suggest he could be back for pre season.
