So they can build loads of houses, plus houses that’s been there for a 100 years, princess street terrace houses, not once have they had a problem with flooding.
Just another excuse to try and stop us from expanding the ground.
Makes you wonder if all these people making these decisions arnt wakey and Fev fans.
pirate old news known about for months.
The proposed ground is on the same foundations which are already concreted. It’s just mischief making and only a recommendation.
First time i had seen it and it is dated 2nd june so hardly months.
I hope you are right though
All they have to do is supply 8.000 life jackets and 100 life boats for match days and we will all be safe from flooding. Looks like it only rains over castleford.
This document is from 13th January and says pretty much the same thing.
So in fairness to RaoulDuke, It really has been in the system for months.
All the documents are listed here…
pirate it was mentioned on the meet the directors on 14th march. It would be of concern if we were materially changing WR but it’s the same footprint.
pirate no worries.
Ultimately, Axiom and Cas wouldn’t put this to a planning meeting if it hasn’t a good chance of passing. Axiom will only get consent once the ground is passed and the money put in our account. If there was no interest or value, then they wouldn’t do it.
So for me, the planning meeting is the step we are waiting for. It’s expected August, unless there’s anything else. There should be no unknowns now otherwise it would be on the planning portal.
.
Just been listening to local radio and they are calling out for more jobs in the old pit areas, naming featherstone and nottingley. There’ll be jobs going should both these pass. Councillors screaming for jobs and then refusing the applications are counter intuitive.
Either way we should know soon. We all need some good news.
I thought something was coming out this month (June)
So we have to wait until august.
I also thought it was this month for the planning
we need more than good news now that the polecats have a win
I read somewhere it was due to be June but due to the recent local elections, it was due to be put back.
The meetings are scheduled for:
22nd June
13th July
17th August
I guess it’ll be one of them. Apparently they are funded and available for live view. Didn’t know that.
Ahh that old chestnut ‘due to be put back’
Same old, same old.
After nothing in august, will it be oct/nov/Dec etc etc etc.
Maturecasfan there’s nothing we can do about it either way. It’ll either go through or not. Not looking now.
Maturecasfan I’ve worked at Rowntrees/Nestle for 35 yrs and the factory grounds have flooded once in my working life.
I don’t really see how the club can mitigate against the Aire breaking its banks… I assume the environmental agency are concerned about how quickly any such water is dissipated once the levels recede? Surely anything that’s put in as part of the redevelopment will improve the (probably) 70-100 year old drains and drainage system that are currently there!
Looks like it’s been put back a month.

We need to face facts.
WMDC are never going to put us in a position to challenge trinity ground wise, I truly believe that if Trinity were in the top half and safe from the drop, this would already have been passed.
I am also resigned to championship rugby next year, anything else will just delay the demise
I am also depressed at the state of our club.
How have we sunk so far so fast?
Like the tide comes in and goes out, so do sports clubs fortunes.
We had good times with van de velde and raper then 2 relegations. From DP to now dicing with relegation. It’s not that we are that bad on paper but the injuries since 2017 have been bad. This means most of your salary cap is in the stands. You can’t afford to bring in players because it’s spent. Unless you have a big money backer who can do both. We don’t.
Although it’s not good, we’ve seen a lot worse and remember were still not the worst, yet.
Things might just click into place. Planning permission given, new rich owners and players coming out fully fit. All very possible within the next few months.

Pour me a glass of that whatever it is,
it lightened the mood a little, so did watching a recorded 66-10 victory
