Wakey announce losses of nearly 1.5m which the owner is happy to bear.

Looking at Cas, Mr Jepson is looking at bringing in money from the 3g pitch and the club using it's facilities including the bar and restaurant. Also the marquee and outside for weddings and events.

Wakey, like Huddersfield rely on their owners to fund the losses but how long can it go on? It also shows that being successful is a way to lose your money I.e. Leeds and Wigan

A lot of money to lose with nothing to show for it. Know they could still go on to the GF but that’s unlikely.

They could do it depending on injuries but I don't see it. Wigan looked good against Leeds and Leeds have been the best this yearm can't see anything but then in the final.

The NRL money won’t even scratch the surface of that.

So coming second means an over 4m loss. This is no way near sustainable.

The NRL isn't the answer but there's not much choice. Apparently there's 12 teams out if 14 that want them. I wonder if we are still undecided.

I don't know if any club is self sustaining? I have been travelling so haven't read any of the articles.

What is clear is that doing more of the same with Sky as we have been isn't making a substantive difference, something different is required. Going summer, Sky, SL, framing the future etc.... The only thing that gives me heart in the NRL combination is they took something messy and managed to make it financially and viewer successful. T'was not always the case with mergers, unrest and self interest even in AUS, this is a business built over 20 years we are looking at today.

mdean your spot on. Something is needed and the NRL certainly keeps the top spot in Oz. Just wish there was competition for the ownership.
