Back at home again and another match we should be looking at taking the two points.

York seem to be struggling and even with some players back I’d like to hope that we can do the same again and put in a good performance.

Going to say Cas by 30.

With Semi back, we'll be pretty strong.

We should be winning this and interesting to see what crowd they bring.

So Carr doesn’t believe we’ve gone backwards again and it was simply down to “school boy errors”.

I’m sorry but our HB partnership are old enough and have played enough games - probably in conditions similar to this in Aus and yet they both make stupid plays on numerous occasions.

Tonight was never going to be fast free flowing Rugby. We just needed to hold the ball and not give possession away constantly when it’s boiling hot with high humidity. We made it hard work because quite a few players aren’t interested or able to maintain consistency for more than a week at a time.

McShane ran the show, knew exactly what to do and the York players did enough to walk away with the points. Not dismissing their performance however we shouldn’t have lost to them tonight.

York will be above Cas in 4 weeks time.

Cas have Wakefield twice, Leeds and Leigh and will probably lose all 4
York have Huddersfield twice, Toul;ouse and Hull and will probably win all 4.

We actually need York to beat Huddersfield twice or Huddersfield will be narrowing the gap, as Hudds also have Bradford in the next 4 weeks.

Did anyone else think that Ryan Carr looked angry and grim when he arrived at the ground and pre match? I wondered if something had upset him BEFORE the performance.

After controlling the game first half we totally fell apart in the second and couldn't do even the simplest of things. In attack PLT is running the centres out of the game and occasionally needs to straighten the attack up. We have 2 backrowers that don't have a pass in them and with such poor quality attack during our glut of the ball fist half we simply let Macca run the show after the break, allowing him to kick with no pressure applied to him at all.
Be interesting to see what changes Carr makes for next week.

TheFirm Makes Darryl Powell look jolly! Being a massochist I’ve just watched the game again. Not sure what happened at half time because we were in control albeit had we had a decent half-back or a Macca type organiser in the side we’d have been out of sight. Second half we just self destructed,no leader,no clue. Don’t know what the answer is, you can’t manufacture that and I can’t see anyone in the current starting 13 capable of doing the job.

The League has split into the top 8 and the bottom 6. Not to much damage done this round of matches to Cas as only York of the bottom 6 won, assuming Huddersfield will get hammered by Wakefield. We can forget the top 8, but just need to make sure we finish top of the bottom 6 (9th). A team will go down fo get London into SL, just have to make sure it is not Cas.

Every game this weekend has been crap to watch as a neutral and I cant see Wakefield hammering Huddersfield being any better
Its not just us that are playing boring rugby, maybe the heat has something to do with it
On the plus side , results haven't altered our league position.
We will sneak a win at Magic weekend. its just the way our season is going ( wigan, saints wins and then lose against York)

pirate You’d think the heat had to be a factor, the unforced error count across the games has been off the charts. The Leigh game was played in a blast furnace which was ridiculous,when players are going down with heat stroke despite the many water breaks you take it’s not doing much for player welfare.

The games this week should have all been moved to 8pm kick off times because of the heat, it was predicted soon enough , but player welfare goes out of the window when sky and their money are involved, not that it would have made a difference to our shower of s**t

And I agree with mdean in respect of Macca sliding knee first into QQs legs after he scored

Although I watched it, I haven't had time to post and I am probably helped now with the reflections that Huddersfield and others not winning it isn't that damaging a defeat league wise. But momentum, confidence and vibes wise - it was really poor.

Being beat isn't an issue when there is more quality or a better team on show - but losing from basic application is upsetting to say the least. The longer it went close and we were not scoring I had little doubt where it would end up - we didn't take our chances and they did in a clutch moment.

Side note, not the reason we lost but I was sure we outlawed sliding in with the knees on a player scoring and it appeared to me Macca did exactly that when QQ scored.

pirate Looked at the freeze frame and no doubt at all his right knee hit QQ in the hip area,the left with the thigh. You’d have expected it to be picked up when the try was reviewed.

I would expect Jackson Hastings to get a 3 game ban for touching an injured player like Semi did, but he doesnt play for Cas so he got off scott free.
