The next four games for me are pivotal for our season and for Maguire it will be interesting to see how he manages the resources now at his disposal. QQ and the French Lads for tonight and then we should have Amone and our first choice back line for Huddersfield,with Wakey twice in four games it’ll be easy to make a comparison,whatever we do tonight we should reasonably be able to expect an improved performance for the second game,if there isn’t his abilities should be called even more into question. You don’t get many surprises from Powell sides,they’ll come out hard and fast and won’t be afraid to spread the ball. We have to front load our effort to negate that,get behind early and you have to take risks which just plays into their hands. Commitment and effort the minimum for me tonight,result slightly secondary but after this I’d be looking at two wins from the next three.

I wasn’t going to go tonight but the sun has put me in a good mood and I’ve grabbed a ticket. I really hope that we put in a good performance and don’t embarrass ourselves. We know that Powell, Shenton and Gale will get Wakey firing now we need to find it in us to do the same.

Gutted…but chalk and cheese to the Leigh performance,their bench turned the game on it’s head,we’re still lacking creativity in the halves but defensively we were miles better,the French lads seemed to go ok and QQ was a welcome returnee. Add Amone into that game and it could have been a very different result. Hopefully we’ll take some confidence from that into a very winnable Giants game.

We were the better side, the forwards were better but it’s half backs are now our achilles heel. Neither are direct, cannot take us round the field effectively, no running game, can’t pick a pass but can defend a bit.

Asi is 50% at kicking the ball through the line. 50% of the time he hits an opposing player.

Milnes cost us the game with his inability to kick one goal, Hoy would have got one of our goal kicks at least.

I’m just so frustrated that we sort one area and then we have other problems.

Muzzy not good enough, okoro will only get better but not ready. Westy not productive enough.

Mellor and simbiken very good again.

QQ a star who must play every match and on the left his best position. Hoy again so very good.

We got every video decision, which was right by the way, but how many times is that. Also 2 captains challenges, which is unheard of.

RaoulDuke Agree with all of that,not sure what’s happening with Asi,decent defensively but his lack of a running game makes him very predictable,kicking game the same and his partnership with Milnes lacks creativity and innovation. Both are better than we saw last night. Milnes kicking from the tee was off,all three swung across the face of the posts and he couldn’t make the necessary adjustment,decent kicking coach could tweak that because his percentages are generally good. But two halves with no running threat isn’t good.

Atkin would certainly offer some of the spark we’re missing been good even behind a beaten pack. I read somewhere the other day he hadn’t turned up for training so clearly not happy,maybe an opportunity.

stuey Just watched a QQ highlight reel,there’s no doubt he’s a talented lad but watching some of his tries he does tend to go to ground early when he crosses the whitewash when another step would have made the kickers job easier. Maybe it’s a balancing act and safety first but something the coaches need to be addressing.

I noticed that with both his tries. He could have got 4 or 5 yards nearer the posts. 4 more points from the easier goal kicks would have won us the game.

Absolutely he should have,his kick success floats around the 64% mark but drops to around 50% from his least favoured side(Left) Hoy conversely has a higher strike rate kicking from that side. An argument there to have either kicking from their favoured side.
