Team almost picked itself, Hoy in the halves with Rooney at full back,no argument with that, looks like plenty of impact, personally I’d like to have seen Okoro in for Mustapha and we’ll miss Mellor. Now all I need is for the Iplayer buffering to stop and it’s game on.

Not looking great so far. Bradford are dominating us.

The pitch is a disgrace too. Looks worse than most Sunday league pitches.

Garbage. Completely out played in all areas.

We will not win a match all season, if we play like this every week.

I can’t see us scoring either which is just embarrassing. For years now we haven’t recruited well and our pack is so small - we’ve had so many coaches who’ve neglected it and yet again McGuire has done the same.

We’re a SL side who’s financially stable yet they run the business as if we’re skint. Unfortunately most of the players in our side would struggle to hold down a regular Championship spot, we need better players and a pack that can actually compete.

Apart from signing 13 decent players, not sure how we do improve.

We are miles away from even being competitive.

Better in the 2nd half, but still very poor.
We are going to get some serious hammerings this season, and doubt we will win a match, unless there is a massive improvement.

Disgraceful performance. Not a single positive to come out of that. The pack is utterly awful, way too small and weak. Be lucky to win a game all year playing like that.

We were poor in the first half and letting the same try in again as last week. Just left of centre near the posts. I noticed it led to Griffin and Horne going off.

Personally, when you saw the state of the pitch, I’d have played Rimbu at 7 and left Hoy at fullback. As it worked out it was that sort of scruffy game.

Yes the ref was pinging us for offsides and restarts and not them but we should be better than that.

If you didn’t go, odsal is the same as the last time we played there, cold, in hospitable, and lacking in atmosphere.

Not much we can change up for Friday. I’ve got a bad feeling about this.

Thankfully, I didn’t see the entire game in all its glory but I was immediately struck by the size of both teams. Bradford were far bigger than us across the park.

If we cannot conmpete at that level with the players we have, what are the rpospects for the season agead. Dim, at the very best.

On that, why hasn’t our illustrious Director of Rugby simply signed up some of these players, currently operating in the Championship but way bigger than the cheap PNG lads we’re heavily invested in?

Tom Holmes will have no doubt enjoyed his victory as well.

Well, Mr Wilson, you asked to judge you on this year and so far, you’re not winning any friends.

Basically its season over before its begun. Out of the Cup, no hope of the top 6, no chance of relegation with the IMG rulings in place so no jeopardy now for every match. We could lose every match this season, and it will make no difference. Our only incentive is to try and win at least 1 match.

Get rid of most of the team and save money, play the juniors as they can not do much worse and start again in 2026, might be the best option.

Surely we have some good props in the reserves.
I remember a young kid barley 16 years of age making his debut for us and kicking the winning goal if I remember rightly, his name was Craig huby, why oh why can’t we breed players like that anymore.

So many worrying things about that performance and few if any positives. A weak pack with a propensity for ridiculous off loads or trying to burrow over from dummy half with Watts and Westerman showing signs of decline,Griffin and Lawler without the size and a couple notably Mustapha not up to standard which doesn’t leave us much. The PNG boys are getting a bit of a lesson of how tough it’s going to be,still time I suppose but the improvement needs to be significant. The Bulls half backs controlled the game as yet another pairing experiment failed. I see Richardson has gone to Huddersfield on a two week loan, surely if you’re not going to play Windley that might have been worth a call. I agree with whoever suggested putting some youngsters in, Rooney didn’t disgrace himself,Matveyev and Ekoro have size and youth on their side. I don’t profess to know all the answers but firmly believe the worst thing we can do is nothing.
