Firstly, this is a simple attempt to see if this site is still alive as I can’t see any activity for 11 days?

Moving on and as one-year ends, another begins and we start the process of gearing up for a new season. Excitement, worry, anticipation and even fear, all in equal measure.

Personally, I’m always caught by the intrigue of not knowing exactly what we have or where we are. The injury to Milne is a bit of a worry but I am hopeful of the team building on last season and taking a league positional step forward.

Afternoon @FlatCapper same as you, I check in on this almost daily, but there is nothing to talk about until a ball is kicked - as you say everything else is speculation!

About 6 or 7 weeks now? That’ll fly by.

Thank god for milners injury. (Just kidding), least it’s something to talk about.
Some friendlies coming up, the year should liven up a bit.

Happy new year all. Not been much to talk about and rather than become mental like our other forum, it’s been nice to see they lads training and looking to be ok.

Bad news with milnes in the short term but it’s not a fatal injury and for some to suggest moving a fullback to half and beginning in Jack walker at fullback is madness.

The young lad windley will hopefully get chance to make a move for the starting shirt. Or maybe it’ll force our hand to look for another half, which personally I thought we were at least one short.

Heres looking forward to the friendlies upcoming.

Good to know we’re all still hanging in there,falling victim to this flu bug the highlight of my festive season was cracking open a fresh bottle of Covonia. Still had time between coughing fits to plan my trips north for the coming season and have kept up with what little news there has been. No doubt things will pick up as kick off approaches,we could certainly do without picking up any more injuries before the season even starts,though looking at other clubs we’re not alone in that.

Haven’t heard anything about us being in the market for a back up half even though their have been a couple available that could fill the role,looks like he’ll only miss a couple of games and Windley didn’t disgrace himself when he got the chance last year so I wouldn’t see any sense in making a knee jerk reaction and signing someone who the coaches don’t see as a longer term option.

I am trapped in the off-season wonderings like everyone else.

We have one or two squad players who have their break-out season, a lot of people stay fit and most of all, we have a group who really bond and want to compete for each other - I can make a case for top half.

Bit of bad luck here and there and opposite to the bit in bold, some people doing what is required as opposed to everything possible and I can see a rather joyless struggle.

Like most on here, we can see the age profile is changing and we’re not spending top 4, 5 money I am happy to see a group leave it all out there and defend really well almost more than the end results.
