Whether we like it or not, the current situation seems to be the least of all evils - there may well be a practical ending.
Having said that, it does add fuel to the farce that the RFL/SL/Salford have managed to create.
Whatever our feelings are about the way Salford has operated for the last few years, spending money we all know they didn’t have, kicking them out of the SL, with no adequate replacement, would be just as farcical. We’d end up with odd teams and blank weekends.
I do find it incredulous that the IMG system didn’t foresee this issue and react accordingly.
One thing that has also struck me, the Salford team selection against Saints appeared to be based on a squad salary cap of £1.2m. Does this mean the likes of Sneyd & co are not currently being paid, to prevent their salaries counting towards the cap?
