I will start by saying well done all those involved that have managed to upgrade our standing in the game, not least, the fans that tunred up to support a team that didn’t always give 100%.
I have never been a fan of the IMG system, largely because I believe the performances on the pitch should determine the particpants in any sports league. However, I think Cas have shown that the IMG approach has forced clubs to keep improving.
Yes, some Clubs felt they didn’t need to do much but as with so many things in life, if you stand still, you end up going backwards. If the likes of Cas and, dare I say, Wakey, improve to a level that puts them above the Wigans and Leeds, those respective clubs will also have to keep improving, and theoretically, the game improves.
And from that, I’m off to shake mi head and lie down for a bit.
