That’s good news, played a bit of nrl rather than all lower league.
Excellent news will bring some real quality.
We can but hope,we’ve certainly upgraded our search criteria. I’ve no idea where we are re quota spots, were we to sign these two with Cini already confirmed players would have to leave. Putt and El Zhakem were rumoured to be heading home but not confirmed and Miller still has a year left on his contract so I assume there would need to be discussions on that. Wouldn’t leave us room to import any middles but I understand two changes are likely.
I’m sure putt was going, so that’s for Asi.
That leaves:
Miller
El-zakhem
Hoy
Horne
Namo
The talk is of residency rules, so Miller would come off allowing 2 new players.
Thanks RaoulDuke, makes it simpler, the residency rule might be Millers saviour then. Would massively help with our search for props unless we use the quota spots elsewhere. Croker would be an upgrade, Kennedy perhaps if he was unavailable but would rather have English back mainly because he wouldn’t use a quota spot. One or both of Kibula and Hindmarsh look to be heading for the door, and while I try not to listen to rumours Titus Gwaze’s name keeps coming up,might be a project that wouldn’t break the bank. When all said and done obviously the club is trying to move one or two on which if it happens will affect who we can or need to bring in.
With putt and miller potentially wanting out. That leaves:
Hoy
Horne
Namo
El-zakhem
Cini
I don’t think we’d be talking to Miller unless we’d sorted his replacement. Personally, I wouldn’t replace macca as we’ve got Horne and Robb.
So a half back and a prop for me.
I’m assuming it’s too early to rely on the young lad as a starting half?
Power is what we need, and by power, I mean size up front. Wattsy may be going around again but we need another 2 or 3 big lads (above 6 foot would be start!) that can get us on the front foot going forward and halt anything thrown back at us.
Have I seen somewhere that we’re signing a guy called Rimbu, who has been tearing it up in reserve grade?
FlatCapper Rimbu is a hooker who has played halfback as well. Asi and milnes will be halves with windley and Rimbu cover. He looks a powerful lad.
Now that Miller is trying to negotiate release from his contract, we might need Rimbu to step in the halves when we get injuries.
Still could do with at least 1 prop because I’ve seen nothing to suggest that Kibula or Hindmarsh are good enough and, as I’ve said before, Mustapha is just not big enough.
Croker resigned for the Knights so he’s definitely not coming, still thirty odd NRL props of contract for next season so surely there’s an upgrade to be found amongst them if they could be persuaded.
It’s looking increasingly like Rimbu has signed.
Good signing. Horne played 6 for png, thinking weary will prop and Horne 13 next year
