I see Jake Trueman is one of a number bemoaning players staying down after a head contact to milk a review to get a potential yelllow card. There were a couple of noticeable instances this weekend where players on the receiving end of a high shot almost forced the review by laying prone until they were magically revived by the trainer to such an extent the player could not only resume play but didn’t need a HIA. Surely if that’s the case it shouldn’t warrant a yellow card.

Perhaps every head shot penalty should result in a HIA, regardless of what the player/physio think after the magic sponge has been applied.

Thids could still be ‘played’ by the fat lads that go off after 20/30mins to save an interchange but may limit the number of those deliberately trying to get someone sin binned.

If not for a HIA then a five minute mandatory spell on the sideline with no replacement allowed, a bit harsh I know but the coaches would soon stop them if they were down a man for 5 because of the play acting

I wouldn’t want it to be pure punishment for potential play acting but a serious attempt to ensure head injuries are treated thoroughly. That in itself should discourage play acting.
