Final home game of the season, would be good to get some numbers down at the ground to try and get whatever we can to please IMG. A win would be nice too, keep a good buffer between us and Hull/London.

Leigh have announced their strongest squad. Can’t see us getting anything from the gam. Just hope we can keep the score down. Horne gonna be a big miss, but Robb is back. Can’t see our forwards competing with theirs. Only plus I can see is getting a good attendance. If we can break the 8k mark I think the fans will have done their bit. I’m gonna hobble down, hope it’s worth it.

We’ve beaten stronger teams. Macca for Horne should do it and Robb off the bench. A big following might just get us a win.

I think we started the game pretty well and looked ok but after their first try it all fell apart.

We’re absolutely clueless in attack and we have to do something in the off season, we really need to invest in some better players.

I’d hope the club also uses the time to reevaluate the coaching situation. It’s clearly not working out and I don’t think Lingard is the person to take the club forward.

While it isn’t on the same level as Hull’s season it’s another one to quickly forget. Not sure what we do about the last couple of fixtures, can’t see anything but a big score being put on us.

Tbh, we were pretty poor, 2 missed tackles for their first 2 tries and both unacceptable. Kicking out twice from kick off the same. Joy our best player but did 2 of the above.

We showed heart with a patched up side and it shows, we only have 21 for players against a virtually for team.

on the plus side, my four newbie companions are commited to coming to Cas next season and if we can convince the bus firm to give us a decent deal it could turn into every home game. They actually liked The Jungle and all her quirks
They found the Lion a little daunting though 😂
Let the team rebuilding begin in earnest as soon as our SL place is granted.

I agree about looking at the coaching staff.
I know he’s not been dealt good hands, inheriting a virtual championship team.
Also a billion injuries, not to say some of the players getting consistent bans. Horne namo being 2.
All down to recruitment now, let’s see how brave jepson and Fulton are in bringing good experienced players into the club.
Need at least ⅚.
Preferably 2 props, 1 Center, ½ halfs and a couple of utility players.
I’ll give lingard half of next season, no improvement then he as to go.

I think we should honour Lingards contract and give him the tools to do the job, we have improved under him and without the luxury budget that Radford had at his disposal.
Name any coach that could do better under the same restraints, or any decent coach that would take on the job

I think Lingard deserves a bit of backing but given the quotes I’ve read re next years budget I don’t think it’s going to happen. Some of the youngsters will benefit from their experiences this season so might be a natural improvement there but we are losing a lot of experience in the side through retirement, Joe and Watts also approaching or already in the twilight of their careers. So to be anywhere near competitive we need new blood. Cas have maintained their effort levels under Lingard which looking at Hull who have been an embarrassment is impressive. We’ve been outclassed at times but had heart. Would be sad if Lingard went never really having been given the tools to do the job.

What I’m saying is, if we bring 5 or 6 decent players in (the tools) and we don’t improve, ie: finish 9th 8th or even 7th, then we have to start questioning lingards position.
No one more that me wanting him to succeed.
But playing the rugby like we have this season is not acceptable, especially if the club want to keep the fans on side. So we’ll see.

Maturecasfan I’m on board with that, if he has the players and he doesn’t cut it,fair enough. But if the purse strings aren’t relaxed not much the bloke can do. When you look at the signings others have made we’re in danger of being left behind and that includes Wakey. We desperately need props and a half. Windley or “Bambi” as my Mrs christened him has promise but is a couple of seasons away,Milnes and Miller aren’t the answer,nor are Hindmarsh and Muzzy. I’d agree with the ⅚ signings needed but proven ones not projects like Cini.
