On the subject of ‘blooding’ youngsters, at what level do folk class Robb and Hill?
Robb is 21 and Hill 19 so I’d hardly class them as ‘senior’ players and for both, they’ve had a relatively gradual exposure as first team level, Robb longer than Hill.
Both now look capable so is their path so far an example of the way to go and if so, when does he next half-back get a call up. A more technical role in the team may requiremlonger although I think I’m correct in thinking both Hill and Robb are/were hookers.
Swallow’s and summer springs to mind but I do hope a large part of the ‘development’ plan of the Club, via Lingard, is to bring more of our own through from the ‘junior’ ranks.
