No Miler in the squad. McShane at half-back?.

It’s a squad with a lot of options. Macca in the halves with Robb and Horne covering at hooker would be one,Westy could go back to 13 with the inclusion of Namo and Kibula, plenty of full back options mean we could even put Hoy in the halves. Honestly not sure what Lingard will do, I’m sure he’ll know if any of the squad aren’t quite ready yet. Seen plenty bemoaning Richardsons loan move, but for me I don’t see any areas he’d improve us.

Qereqere for senior, macca in the halves. Tbh, macca, horne and robb deserve a place in the squad.

Nice win. But that last 15/20 mins we were awful. According to lingard, ¾ were suffering with sickness, so I suppose they did well to even get a game never mind play most of it.

I’m taking that win every day of the week. It was far from perfect but there are enough green shoots there to make me think that we are finally on an upward curve. Big screen looked smart as well.

Had to rely on the Radio Leeds commentary but it sounded like a step in the right direction. Happy to excuse us running out of gas late on given Lingards post match comments,if you excuse the Saints game when we were awful,we showed late on at Leigh our conditioning isn’t far off.Putt was aggressive when he came on and commentators seemed impressed with Milnes throughout. Three very poor errors gifted Hull tries, without them they wouldn’t have got close.

Yep, we gifted hull tries with a cherry on top. Really need to be more street wise in certain areas. The game should have been over at half time. Just glad we scored a couple of tries first that second half. I feel if hull had brought it back to 18 16 we would be in trouble. They were the better team last 20 mins in control. A bug bare through the game especially second half, our line speed was awful, the amount of space and yardage we gave them was criminal. Hence they were making 60/70/8 meters every set.

Our discipline was spot on. Not a single penalty given away and just 1 “6 again”.

stuey Yep, good discipline all over the field. Not sure how we didn’t get any 6 again, hull were lying on and trying to slow us down nearly all game. Also how the heck did the hull player stay on the field after that tackle on watts. The ref bottled in imo. Let’s see what the discipline say about it.

Just seen a replay of the game, Namo certainly put himself about a bit when he came on,and I’m told Kibula was decent in the reserves against Saints. Offers some hope on the prop front, be interested to see how Hindmarsh gets on today against Wakey, he’s in the Haven squad and be a good test if he gets some minutes, he needs to show something. I see Leigh are looking to offload Nabukuwai to free up space and Lingard said we were interested earlier in the season but I think Hoy has filled the quota spot we have. Failing that Titus Gwaze still doing ok at Sheffield.

We gifted Hull their first 2 tries. We would have been clear and game over at halftime if not did them. Lost watts one minute into the second half and then westy for a spell in the second half. That doesn’t leave us with many senior players on the pitch. They rallied but we got there. A wins a win. With players due back and players getting valuable gametime away from the club, things don’t seem too bad.

Johnstone as been injury free for the past couple of year, bar ½ HIA’s.
Mcmeeken still playing well. Catalans wanted to keep both.

I agree wakey have an aging squad, and do indeed need 8/9 more players.
I think the coach as a draw on some players, though like at cas, he doesn’t seem to be bringing younger players through.
Time will tell.

Maturecasfan wakey will do what they will but still be based on a relegated team. We’ve tried to change a lot of players in one go and it takes time to blend them together. It’ll be the same at hull and/or toulouse.

I’m not too sure about the pull of DP now. He had a good time at Cas but fell away dramatically. He then went to wire and with one of the highest spends ballsed it up. I can see them hitting the middle of the division and then falling away having lost all their juniors. The new owner will fall away as the rest have done before. If he’d have been as rich and powerful as their fans believe, then he could have spent them out of relegation. He chose to wait until it was over and get the club cheaper. My question would be why.

Wakey definitely looking to make an instant impact and signings like this will clearly help their cause but if DP’s time at Warrington proved it’s that money doesn’t guarantee success. The jewels in the crown are great but as others have said the rest of the squad not exactly intimidating. Though if rumours are true they’re far from finished yet.
