So it’s on to Saints down the lane. A few weeks ago i’d be worried we’d be getting a bit of a doing over in this one but given our improvement and their drop off i reckon we’ll now give it a damn good go. It might not get us the points, they’ve still got some serious quality in their team after all, but they’ll know they’ve been in a battle.

It was what is was,a right battering a team in its infancy against a quality team of seasoned pros. Should we have made a better fist of it? Absolutely but our forwards were outclassed in every area and some of the lines Saints ran were just outstanding and they demonstrated the kind of ruthless efficiency needed to be a successful team,for all our performance at times was poor,hats off to the Saints second half they were class,turned us inside out and anyway up. There were quite a few players in a Cas shirt last night either past their best or simply not good enough.

The HIAs and injuries just helped to show that we do not have proper depth in the squad, they are not excuses and I fear we will see a few more of these batterings before the corner is turned.
The IMG uncertainty is hampering our recruitement and that is not Lingards fault as some people on other platforms are claiming.
If, and its a big if in my opinion , we get the green light for superleague we will start to improve in recruitement and performance.
The whole system is set up in favour of the usual suspects again
Bring on the Championship and some honest Rugby League for a change

Surprisingly restriant on this subject following that debarcle.

For what it’s worth, ignore the 52-0 second half, Cas lost that game in the first half when Saints went a man down and knew they has to roll their sleeves up. Cas did the opposite, started to think they could walk over Saints and then panic set in when nothing worked and we s*@t ourselves because Saints wanted to stand up and fight.

Atrocious attitude from so-called SL players.

I hope to God they were insrtucted to turn up at 6am Saturday morning and do a 12 hour training shift. If any player has gone on holiday, show them the door and whatever Griffin is doing this week, hope he never pulls a Cas shirt on again.

Sadly have to agree with your comment re Griffin, on the presumption our loan signing Eseh was fit I didn’t think he added anything to the party though I might give him one more chance. I’ll forgive Horne his total brain fart, you could see what he was trying to do and hopefully he’ll learn from it. Will Wattsy go round again? Perhaps he shouldn’t. To be honest of the current squad I’d be pushed to retain 50% of them.

Saints had 12 of their 13 starters that were playing in the same position as they always have with just about their same players around them. If a team was going to be about as good with 12 it was them.

We were holding them but rushing plays. Then when Horne went the bubble burst. I’ve seen worse down the lane. At least we had a half that was ok. Let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water. Recently it’s been 2 steps forward and this is one back. We are still on a positive trajectory.
