… have got their on-going ground problems sorted with a deal today, which means another team with a higher IMG grading score for 2025 than us. We just have to now get our ground updated by the end of this season our it`s the Championship for us next season.

Said it for a while think we will be in the Championship in 25 & 26 but back in 2027 if the ground is sorted by then.

We are 13th at the moment, and will be 13th and in the Championship in 2025unless we get the ground improvements done PDQ (completed within the next 8 months).

So the one million pound investment by Martin jepson will mean nothing.
Everything depends on building a stadium in 8 months……not a chance.

If everything goes to plan for Salford all I can see they gain as tenants of the stadium is 0.25 points,I would have thought Mr Jepsons investment in the club would get us 0.5 points. That to my eyes is a nett gain. I’m happy to be corrected if that’s wrong. Assuming we can actually fill the forms in right for the actual grading,and we make the fixes we can make in the timeline available we could be ok. I’m not over confident in that but there were other clubs around us in those gradings that would struggle to get to the number of points we would be able to.

This feels like my last season watching Rugby League at pro level, I will follow scarborough Pirates in the amateur leagues instead and keep one eye on Cas’ progress.

For my ten pennorth , the game is no longer viable as a truly competetive sport, a league decided by comittee is pathetic and uninspiring.

Completely agree with all this.
I’ve been watching Cas since 1958 and I’ve never been as disillusioned with the game as I am now.
If we wanted to use a company like IMG, they should have been tasked with marketing Rugby League, not deciding what teams will be in Super League.
As you say, this could well be my last season as an attending Cas supporter.

We need to do the work as the club told us bestie the next IMG marking point. But tomorrow is a massive day. There’s nothing stopping the money being sent over and the plans moving into building.

I’m not so sure that the reds are safe yet. They will be one of 3 tenants, the council will need the beer and food money from the ground to pay the bills. Salford have been borrowing money to stay afloat, this changes nothing, except that the area will have to close lots of other things to become full owners.

Sale sharks can afford and so can Salford fc. The reds don’t have a pot to piss in and sold their best players to finish last season without going bust. A bit of a plaster sticking moment unless they can find another koucash.

The language surrounding the reasons why may be different but the amount of assistance is still far less than the £2m Cas can make use of from our local authority.

But they did give it to all the pro teams in the area and the money was to build the community. Cas without the tigers, Fev without their team and wakey only having one professional sporting team, would fail their communities.

There’s is to pay at bills ie wages. If you can’t afford the cap, don’t spend up to it.

You’ll find they will spend the money on new player to replace Burgess and sio.

As I said, the language around why may be different but the fact remains, all 3 of the district’s clubs will benefit significantly from a local authority cash injection. Just like Salford.
