I thought we looked pretty good yesterday. Defensively good in the first half and looked to have a good left edge in the second. Hooley was very good defensively making every important tackle and his kicking out of hand topnotch. He’s got a real boot on him. Whether he’s our best goal kicker, I’m not so sure as it was very windy and I guess we’re not putting too much pressure on Richardson yet. He’s getting better in attack slowly. Qereqere and senior for wings and centres now set. Miller left and Richardson right. Milnes will have to wait for his chance when he comes back. Props were OK but only watts stood out. Macca at 9 and horne the bench, could prove real handy. Second row tsipale left and eli on the right, though Putt was good when he warmed into the game, Johnson didn’t let anyone down. Got to be westy at 13. Subs going to be interesting, horne, putt and then 2 props. I thought Huddersfield had no idea. I know they were under strength but not very good. Personally I wouldn’t pay Connor in washers for his fullback contribution, slow in attack and defence. Always moaning and refusing to catch high balls. Yates looking at a ban for the tip tackle under new rules. I know we gave a penalty for one but the player did have a foot in the ground, so how you can get lower than ground level I don’t know. After the London match I was a bit worried but we seen to have got some cohesion starting.

Great summation Raoul, I think you’re spot on with the starters for Week 1 providing all the players pull up sound. Defensively we did look more cohesive and I thought QQ had noticeably improved,Tasipale continues to impress me and while Richardson isn’t up to full pace yet he was solid as was Miller. Have to agree that Watts stood out in the front row but he could use a stronger partner. Hooley kicking from hand is a real bonus, those high bombs were testing all day long and the distance he gets could really put us on the front foot, Richardson might still be better from the tee but having an option is great. Atttack wise you could see what we were trying to do,didn’t always come off but more time together will no doubt improve our timing. All in all I think we can take more positives out of the game than Huddersfield,their completion rate first hour must have been hovering around 50%. A tough start against Wigan who seem to be a class above but a competitive Cas with the same level of effort and commitment will do for me if we can do it for the full 80.

Hepworth I think lawler will start with probably Griffin with watts and Hall on the bench. Wars and hall both have a good pair of hands.
Personally, I’d like us to have some peeps that do one thing well, like run forward really hard and fast, like matagi did every now and again. Still. We’ve not seen namo yet and the others can pick up.

I’d hope to be competitive for portions of the match against Wigan but not expecting a win. A surprise one might be nice especially as they have the world club challenge right after.

It would have been better had we managed to move him on but hopefully once we get Namo on the field Vete will only be there to cover injuries.

He fits the age profile we’re looking at,has the size and stats were decent enough in Australia to get him trials in the NRL. Wasn’t on my radar but looks a decent signing with potential for improvement,he’s fit and makes metres after contact, what’s not to like. I was disappointed when we missed out on Roumanos but comparing the stats between the two we may have had a bit of a result.

Frustrated my inner geek this one, I’ve checked English and Australian player data bases, club websites and more. And nowhere could I find his height and weight. Along with the meaning of life and Joan Collins real age it will remain a mystery. Guess we’ll have to employ the old adage “ It’s not the size of the dog in the fight,it’s the size of the fight in the dog” And hope he turns out to be a bit of a mongrel.
