There’s a meeting in February if we’re on the agenda, failing that March. Apparently we’ve had consultation meetings with the EA who wanted a few tweaks to be satisfied,I understand these have been made and would hope they will lift their objection prior to any planning meeting.

    GOOD NEWS ALERT!!!!

After reviewing the re-submitted flood risk assessment he EA has officially removed it’s objections! Providing we come up with suitable emergency planning and evacuation procedures (which is standard stuff we’d have to do to get a saefty certificate) then we are good to go to commitee! Whether that is next month or in March remains to be seen but this is one major hurdle out of the way!

The planning has been in since 2022 and it’s taken this long for all interested parties to be satisfied. There is now no official reason not to rubber stamp it. All interested parties have had their say, there are no endangered newts or wildlufe, and the only thing left is a vote and there would have to be pre known issues to prevent its passing. Not just auntie Joanne being prevented from seeing the Wakefield newcold building from their loft window.

The next stop will be the stadium being passed and the Axiom part being passed pending the monies being transferred over to the stadium build account.

For the naysayers, I still don’t know why the Axiom people would put this much in and jump every hurdle to then pull out.

I think this is it, really is this time. However, we may end up being the only sporting club that will have to have a dedicated RNLI boat and crew standing by 24 hours a day should we get flooded.

RaoulDuke thanks, so its a given that if & when the plans for our ground are passed, that junction32 will also get the go-ahead

RaoulDuke The great unknown is though is the devil in the detail. They should now both pass planning and there should be a watertight section106 ensuring the money is paid. What we don’t know is when that has to be. The train of thought is that it has to happen before Axiom put a spade in the ground at J32. But it’s likely that doesn’t happen until Axiom have enough companies signed up for that warehouse space. Hopefully this has been going on in the background and announcements will follow the planning being passed. But until that annoucement is made the start date remains unknown.

yorky Simple answer is no idea, once planning is passed it could be days or it could be months before an announcement. Only Axiom know that and anybody that says otherwise (particularly the clueless Wakey fans) is just making it up. One thing i do know though is they’ll want it started as soon as possible, time is money.

yorky yes but Axiom get a type of pending stamp. Just like the wakey deal, theres be given once the money has been transferred to the tigers building account. No payment, then their planning will be refused. I think that’s why it’s called a hybrid application.

The difference between this and the wakey one is the fact that we’ve given up our right for a new build at Glasshoughton for the refurb.

The council gave wakey money from another build unconnected with their failed build to get their 1 and a half stands.

Both have the same deal. The builders pay the money into an account that they can’t touch, for them to get planning on the land.

From the directors meeting when the new deal was put forward, they had deal(s) ready to go. Certainly one of the companies that is local, wants to stay in the area and hasn’t built anything significant to facilitate its moving elsewhere. How long it takes is anyone’s guess, like has been said it might be on the day of the planning committee meeting for it to come out or longer.
