Maturecasfan It would look like he owns the land and stadium but the club have security of tenure. That aside their could be many permutations, none of which we’re privy to, though as a private limited company with shareholders Companies House have to be notified of any material changes in share holding or ownership. As this hasn’t happened I’d assume the ownership of Castleford Tigers PLC hasn’t changed, and if it does it will very quickly be put into the public domain. Having said all that it would appear Mr Jepsons involvement and influence is ever growing.

Hepworth in the IMG farce, you have to own your ground or have a certain portion owned to get the points.

If Mr jepson wasn’t a director then we would be renting and no points. So all good in that sense.

Maturecasfan Jepson doesn’t ‘own the land’, the club does. He does now though has a charge on the ground for money he has lent us. The Fultons have also registered a new charge on the land on the same day. Whether this is new money Jepson has lent us or the original investment was in fact a loan we don’t know. Either way 3 parties theoretically now have a call on the land if we don’t repay.

yorky Impossible to know from what is in the public domain. Could be, although the land is only worth so much and it was already well ‘mortgaged’ to the Fultons anyway. Or it could just be a restructuring of the debt. If for example Jepson has loaned extra money (say for the ‘stop gap’ IMG ground works ) and to allow this the Fultons have lessened their charge on the land (written off part of the debt if you like) then the overall debt will be the same, just owed to more people.

Maturecasfan A decision is usually made made the same day, although the commitee can defer the decision for a month if they feel they need extra information or clarification on a point. That doesn’t often happen though.

Who’s betting it’s deferred for another month, just the way it’s been going with this stadium.
Sorry for the negativity, I just don’t have faith in WMDC when it comes anything Castleford.

Maturecasfan Whilst you never know i’d be surprised, the applications are both very thorough. There still are a couple of flys in the ointment though that means it isn’t quite a slam dunk yet, even if the council pass it. First one is given the council didn’t put the Axiom area in the special policy zone for employment so it needs to prove thats it’s an exceptional case otherwise it could be open to a judicial review by opponents of the scheme. This though would be very costly if they failed and the application is quite good so i’d deem that unlikely to happen.

If it is then passed then given it is on Greenbelt and not in a special policy area we will have to wait and see whether it is called in by the secretary of state. Then it’s over to the Tories….

The plans have been in since 2022 and anybody could have opposed it but to date all opposition has been removed barring the few people that live nearby which you’d expect (and it’s not all of them) and a few fans of opposing teams.

Certainly the ground should be rubber stamped and the Axiom site should also, the secretary of state hasn’t been calling in plans regularly for a few years, Newmarket wasn’t called in and it’s building(s) are seen over 10 miles away. They won’t want to stop councils allowing job creation and the extra rates coming in, when all councils are close to bankruptcy. If it is sent, there would have to be reasons that weren’t there when other local builders put theirs in. Like I said before, there are no endangered newts etc

The plans have been viewed by council planners who have invited each agency to view and make comment on what is needed, all have been answered satisfactorily and plans amended. Highways, the EA, Yorkshire water, the electric and so on don’t have teams scanning local planning and then make demands. They are sent the details by planning as are all interested parties.

This will make February a great occasion and hopefully allow Axiom to show their hand, pay over the money and begin the next process.
