RaoulDuke Interestingly Huddersfield are keeping their season tickets low again. It’s happened nearly every year as they try to increase their crowd. But even in a good year, spending cap and having the full amount of quota players they can’t get over 5k. Plus they are well over 20m in debt to the owner. Am I the only one who can see them going pop when Davy snuffs it?
Hepworth RaoulDuke Without Ken Davy the Giants would have gone long ago, both he and his late wife lived and breathed the club as has been shown by his massive investment, I’d be shocked if he hadn’t made some provision for the club going forward, whether that would ensure their survival I don’t know. Having had the good fortune to spend time in his company he’s a good bloke, with a sharp business brain until it comes to his rugby, that’s when love overtakes reason.
RaoulDuke Hepworth the frightening thing is he would have to make provision of £25m just to keep them at £0. I can’t see him putting that much aside. His net worth shows as about £20m. I’m sure it’ll be higher but that’s not enough
mucky1978 McShane isn’t leaving Hodson looks like he is signing and he is a very good player. Looking at a prop in Championship as well Reynolds as had talks with Cas as well as another club.
Matt Westy signs a new 2yr deal. Happy with that, been one of the very few players this season who can hold his head up.
Hepworth As Confucius said “Every journey starts with a single step” That’s a pretty good step for me!
TheFirm Westerman staying was vital, he was our best by far this year. Lets hope the rest of the retentions & recruitment gives us course for optimism.
FlatCapper RaoulDuke Word on the street here in Capperland is that MC Hammer has been bought out by the owner of Millenium (the people who sponsor the stadium).
Hepworth I’m actually beginning to like this current wave of recruitment,we’re getting players in at the right sort of age with a reasonable level of experience and generally speaking a point to prove. Obviously not all of them will work but hopefully there is enough scope within the new signings for a decent coach to get a number of them playing to a good level, but there’s the rub…who is that coach? Can we get/afford a coach with a proven track record in improving players? Not many of those about or do we go the whole hog with this experiment and give someone else with a point to prove the opportunity which takes you full circle to Lingard.
Matt Well we’re quickly replacing the outgoing players at least. Happy that the announcements keep on coming too, the last thing we need is drip feeding news over the off season. Guessing Simm will be a direct replacement for Eden.
Hepworth So many permutations now in the backs be interesting to see how we line up next season, couldn’t call it at the minute and not sure we’re done yet.
RaoulDuke If we expect wood we come in,, then we have Simms, qereqere, Wallis, Tate, broadbent and wood. 6 for 4 spots. With tsipale, we have another centre of6 needed. Is that enough?
TheFirm RaoulDuke Talk of Connor Wynne coming in as well another utility who plays fullback, centre or wing. Ideally i might have preferred another out & out winger but i doubt the budget will push that far.
Hepworth Looks like 2 out and out wingers,2 who are far better at centre with 2 who can cover both if needed. Tasipale fancies himself as a centre but for me that’s worst case scenario as he looked decent in the second row. If we made more signings now I’d like to see some more cover at prop and another half but that could depend on whether we could offload a couple.
