Hope he’s a good one. Would have loved a half back or mean prop. But if the best halfback Leeds can get is frawley, then there can’t be many good ones around or available.

RaoulDuke Ben Reynolds at Leigh is not sorted for next season , younger and a million miles better than Miller But he has been on Beaumonts secret pay scale (allegedly) so I doubt we could afford him

From some of the lists I’ve seen being bandied about we’re signing everyone and his brother. Wishful thinking on most of the names. But fairly sure you’ll be getting your prop and half back👍

No-one, only the players leaving have been confirmed by the club.

I think we need to tie Westy down to a new contract, Watts and Widdop still being courted by other clubs dependant on who comes up from the championship. Two fighting over Vete’s signature,unfortunately they’re Weight Watchers and Slimming World.

Have no issues with us doing a proper clean out as it was needed. Too many players were signed which offered nothing and it will have cost the club a small fortune, if we’re planning on sticking around in SL then a rethink on how we recruit has to be a good thing. During the time with Powell our younger players never got a real look in and Radford’s recruitment was nothing short of terrible. Hopefully a new focus under Ward will see all of that change.

Matt Has Danny Ward been Confirmed as head coach?

I don’t believe so, he may well know his position,or it may still be under dicussion but like the incoming players nothing concrete. I get it with the players,that’s a changing situation given some of our players are still talking to clubs and there are championship teams whose recruitment criteria may change if they get promoted but when it comes to the coach I would have thought that would have been an easy one to settle.

Widdop rarely took part in the contract session during match warm up. You could see we were looking after him. At fullback it’s all about the contact and then being part off the ‘bringing the ball off the line team’ . He couldn’t do that. I’m truth he wouldn’t get into the first 17 next season.

Wish we’d have seen the best of him. It’s all the best for the future.

Might not be an incoming but still relevant,a bit more money in the pot to strengthen other areas. Danny Wilson had already said we have space available. Fair play to Widdop for not hanging it out for a final pay day. At least next season we’ll have someone at full back who should be there and not a makeshift. Obviously his leaving doesn’t help with the quota directly but it might in a roundabout way if we use some of the savings to offload someone. Dependant on that definitely 1 more signing,hopefully 2,then I’m thinking we’re done.

With Fev failing again , is Eden a free agent and do you think he would be worth a one year contract as back up?

Eden was the one player who I wish we would have kept. Could cover multiple positions and knows how to score a try. Guessing Fev offered him a better contract at the time but with them not coming up to SL it might be worth seeing if he’d accept a 1yr deal with an optional 2nd depending, something similar to the one Watt’s is on.

i always liked Greg, but the problem was keeping him fit & it seemed to affect him in the colder months with hamstrings etc

Eden wanted a 2 year contract, we still wouldn’t offer him anymore. Best he goes where he thinks the grass is greener.

In relation to vete, pay him his wage up and we can release him whether he wants to go or not. If the club have given him a weight to get to and maintain and he didn’t then there will be an agreement to reach. We used to have Frank watene on a monitor in the off season.

I’m of the opinion Widdop was a gamble but unlike some of the recent signings, a gamble that we too great a financial risk.

I appreciate his decision to move on, thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best for his future.

Let’s hope the salary saving continues to be used wisely.

Correct decision for Widdop to go and credit him for doing so. Should free up some cash.

As for Vete he needs to go and if that means playing hard ball with him so be it. He is in no state to play top flight RL.

stuey Likes to put himself about and certainly attracts defenders so has an offload in him. Won’t be costing the earth so worth a punt.

Don’t mind this, right age and size to fit the profile,he’s always had the potential, mind he’s always had a temper too but we could do with a bit of fight,short term deal so it’s up to him.
