It was a strange old match which, after the team was announced, I thought we’d be lucky to get within 50 points of them.
We weren’t good in the first half and didn’t like that he didn’t stop the game for rates injury. We were in attack, it was in the middle of the field and this in the way. Even the saints players called for the ref to stop play. Incompetence at best.
Hall through the line, only one player in front of him who hits him high and he eventually only gives a penalty. Just shocking.
Foster hit off the ball. Watts would have gotten 2 matches for that. They subsequently get cited 3 times by the owner but they find a way but to ban any of them. Again Watts would have probably missed the end of the season.
Saints seem to be phasing a different game to the rest of us and that’s because they are given the benefit of the doubt in 99% if cases. They do play short and are off their line early but it’s seen as ok.
But they weren’t the reason we lost. Having Percival and makinson on the right against foster and turner and then mellor and foster means they had to much speed and it showed.
In the middle we held them.
