So who’s winning then? Yorkshire team or newly promoted side.

Way Leigh are playing I can see them lifting the trophy which would be a huge achievement for the club - and nice to see a new name on it (would have been better with ours on it mind).

Every chance it will be an entertaining game,both like to throw the ball about,if pushed I’d say Leigh have the players for the big stage but hopefully it will be a high scoring thriller,and so refreshing not to be watching the usual suspects.

Can see them going on and winning the GF. They have everything you need to do it and the players, coach and owner have some fire in them to succeed.

Only takes ⅔ injuries, which they’ve been very lucky with so far, and it could change the dimension.

It does but I’d love to see them do it. Really not a fan of the whole IMG stuff going on and they’re a success story of a promoted team. Closing the shop again doesn’t do anything but make the whole sport stale.

What other championship clubs have a millionaire owner.
Can’t think of one.
Leigh have bought success, something we and a lot of other clubs can’t do.
That’s why when we do get to finals, it means a lot more to us than say saints wigan plus a few others with big backers.
One day derek Beaumont won’t want to pile money into the club, what then.
It’s nice to see a new name on the cup, but it’s been bought imo.

Agree, money talks. Without Beamounts money, where would they be?

They have also been very lucky, with such a small squad, that they have had very few injuries, in fact hardly any.

Leeds have history of buying the CC right back to when they took the H bombs
Hull FC bought success when they took Knocker, Sammy and Pickeril (spelling)
St helens bought their run of success
Its nothing new.
One thing about Beaumont is that he is a true RL fan, he stayed and watched Batley V Fax and congratulated/commiserated all the players instead of joining the celebrations. He has gone up in my opinion.
I am just waiting for our turn to buy success (51 years and counting)

Money does talk and in sport you need cash, that isn’t a bad thing and I don’t see Leigh being backed by a wealthy owner being an issue. We need more people like him not less. The sport has a salary cap, what they’ve done is nothing different to what every other club does and they haven’t gone out and bought world class players, in fact most are cast offs.

Matt 100% Matt, Of course Beaumont has spent money at Leigh,but he’s spent it very wisely. They’ve assembled an excellent squad,matched by an excellent backroom staff,their marketing is superb and for me they deserve everything they get. Wigan,Warrington,Leeds,Saints Huddersfield all have owners whose wealth dwarfs that of Beaumont, the money is great,does it help? Absolutely,but it’s.no guarantee.
