Strange decision. Highly unproven but he has a good amount of NRL knowledge and helped as the assistant at Sydney.

Would have thought they’d have gone with someone more experienced.

I see this as a massive gamble although the potential appointment of Sean Long in some capacity may help him.

I would never suggest Burgess could be easily manipulated by the Wire Board but it does smack of them appointing someone they believe they can control.

I maintain my belief that the Board at Wire are the primary reason their coaches fail to deliver.

Seems a strange appointment does Burgess, one year as an assistant and his checkered past post playing retirement.Him and long surely won’t be taken seriously by the players.

But, he will have the contacts and the overseas knowledge. And of course the money to back him up

I said on the other board - for Warrington if they won a GF he could sacrifice puppies under the posts and be forgiven.
