Matt He’s a HB which we need and experienced. Can’t be any worse than what we have and on his day he’s a good player.
FlatCapper Deal done, welcome Blake. I still feel he’s another hit and miss player but when on song, he certainly can be a game changer.
Hepworth I think this is great news although it begs a question selection wise, Austen and Widdop obviously have history in the halves together and should have a decent understanding of each others game. So do you drop Miller and play them at 6 and 7? If you do who goes to full back? Interesting dilemma but in my mind a good one to have,my main concern is is Last the man to provide the answer.
Matt Hepworth While I’m not the biggest fan of Widdop having him in the halves with Austin gives us a pretty strong partnership. I’d also put Eden at FB to bolster the attack, he makes some mistakes but he’s a bigger threat than Widdop.
Hepworth Matt Looks like it’s academic for the Giants game as Austin won’t be registered in time. In which case to get Widdop into the halves we’d have to play someone else out of position at full back. Such a shame it would have been great to get some actual game time together prior to Wakey.
TheFirm Absolutely the best we could have done given the time if the season. If he fires then it might just make the difference.
RaoulDuke Available against the rhinos aswell. https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/leeds-rhinos-chief-reveals-background-to-blake-austin-exit-makes-signings-vow-for-2023-4242962
Matt RaoulDuke He’s here to play for a contract next season and it might not be a bad shout to be fair. Richardson and Austin in the halves could be a good partnership. Look at releasing Widdop and keep Miller on as a backup option. Guess all that depends on if we stay up or not though, we’ll see tonight if there’s any desire to make it happen.
RaoulDuke We have missed a right sided half since Roberts. Richardson was starting to become competent but then injury struck. If certainly take Austin over widdop but then it’s a quota cap space gone.
Brummietiger Set up for Austin to write his name into the Cas book of legends in the fewest amount of games played for the club whilst working alongside the likes of Kear if only to put himself out there for a lucrative contract with a SL or NRL club for next season.
mdean Opportunities are there, someone needs to galvanise the group to take some of them I am afraid. I am not in a great mood this morning and this smacks of Marsch, Javi and Big Sam - last throw of desperate dice I am afraid.
Maturecasfan Apparently Austin as come to cas with an injury. Got a leg injury in Leeds last game, he wouldn’t have played today if he’d stayed at Leeds. Can’t make it up.
