Only 900 tickets left according to Wakey as of yesterday so if you’re wanting to go to our most important game in years you better buy quick.

Managed to get a ticket,looks like it’s going to be a sell out. Unless our new coach is Stevie Wonder it wouldn’t take long to identify Wakey’s weaknesses from the Hull game,their edge defence was awful,if we actually play centres in the centre who can put the wingers into space there are tries to be had.

We knew before the last round of fixtures that this game would be do or die and as things stand, it’s massive. I never like the idea of players deliberately performing badly to get rid of their coach/manager but that performance against Hudds seemed to further highlight the possibility. If tur, these same individuals now need to prove their worth and lift their game back to where it can be. The Club, and their careers, are on the brink of no return. We’ve seen the problems Wire are having recruiting a new coach so I’m doubtful Cas will find the ‘magician’ they need before Friday’s game. Time for the Senior players to take the lead and lift the rest.

If we lose against Wakey we are down without a doubt. If we win we have a slight chance of stopping up.

They have 4 out of the last 6 at home, we only have 2 out of our last 6 at home. Both teams are rubbish away from home, so its likely they will win more of their last 6 than us,

Lose next week we are down, wakey will be on a high and maybe win a couple more. Our moral will be rock bottom and we won’t win another game.
Same as above if we win. A lose for either side and it’ll knock the stuffing out of the losing side.

Think we’re going to need to win at least two matches. Wakey and Leeds are the obvious targets and maybe Hull at a push.

In terms of their fixtures Salford, Leigh and KR will probably be the targets. I’d be suprised if they manage to do anything against Saints or Catalans.

Have an awful feeling it’s going to come down to points difference. I just hope that the players will now step up under Ward and show that they are capable.

I am not sure when there is such tension in the air and expectation that home games are as positive as when you’re pushing up the other end of the table.

Who knows - thankfully I will be away in the sun with the family next week, so the pain or euphoria at the result will be diluted either way in absentia.

Following the coaching appointments and relatively new players, it’s hard not to feel some optimism for this one.

I agree with a number of comments around the socials in that all DW can do is get the team to gel and fight for each other. This may be just enough to see off our neighbours and get the foundations for further improvements down the line.

I’m hoping the wakefield players will feel more stress and pressure than us.
They have home advantage, got a consistent team playing together.
The pressure should be on them.

Hoping they go out there expecting to win, to confident.
We go out there and play with more freedom and somehow or other click, and cause an upset.

Still a fan of Austen and Widdop in the halves even though I know it leaves us struggling at full back. Just think those two would really spark each other. I’d understand if Ward put Widdop there,not having a natural full back in the squad is an issue especially with Wakeys kick threat,but Widdop isn’t great under the high ball either.
