Good to see Dean in the squad which would give Last the opportunity to leave Widdop at full-back and still have two recognised halves.

We can’t afford to have fonua and bureta as a centre/wing partnership as it’s to slow for me. I’d bring in Robb in for massey and Dean on the bench. Injuries permitting, we should keep the same side. They’ve earned the right to and back it up.

Now that Macca is injured, Last seems to be willing to forego a specialist hooker in favour of another big forward. Against Wire Massey was named at hooker and Broadbent filled in at acting half and when Massey was injured he was replaced by Hall / Martin, with Robb only coming on later in the second half. This strategy worked against Wire so will he do something similar on Friday?

I’m hoping he sticks with it,nothing to lose in this game,bring Dean into the halves to partner Miller, Broadbent can then go back into the centres,Widdop stays at full back, Hall and Martin can cover for Massey and Robb can provide fresh legs when needed. Just have an awful feeling that Last likes to match up size wise where he can and Fonua or Faraimo might come in to beef things up defensively against Hurrell,whereas for me I’d be trying to expose his defensive weaknesses rather than just try to defend him.

I think as a suprise factor, having no hooker worked last week but it needs a lot of players to be on the ball mentally too. It does give use the chance to play what they see but there’s a lot of moving parts. It might be the way forward, a game changer.

Spread moved to Saints -20pts and Cas can be backed at 10/1….a long time since that happened,though to be fair if we stay within 20 points I’d be relatively happy. Saints are in need of a statement performance,I just hope it’s not tonight.

Finishing well has nothing to do with hitting the play offs, wakey always seem to get most of their Ws at the back end of the season, regardless of league position, if that seasonal trend continues, we are up shit creek.

As for beating Leigh, I hope to god you are right but i fear another long night darnt lane

Huddersfield and Wakey are likely to be our target games, maybe Leeds if they cant make the 6 at the end of the season.

“Finishing well,” is a relative term isn’t it, over the last 3 seasons the majority of Wakeys win have come in the 2nd half of the season. For your average Wakey fan I reckon ending the season in 11th would fit that definition for them.

pirate they are still behind us on points and points difference. If they start to and we go down, then that’s what it is. Confidence dies many things but it didn’t prevent injuries and other teams playing well or badly.
