I think it’s the right thing for the club to do.
Good luck to him, never the same player that came from Salford.

It’s disappointing that Evalds never really continued his form from Salford. When he signed for us I thought he was the perfect replacement and a quality signing for the club. Still think he could be with the right team around him but his injuries have been an issue.

Shaul was a good player, a few years back however he has lost some of his pace and hasn’t been great, plus his age means he has realistically got 2 seasons in him at SL level. Would prefer someone a big younger.

I’m disappointed for Evalds as I thought he was a good signing. Yes, injuries have limited his appearances, and this may be a question for the fitness team to answer, but overall I don’t think he’s shown what he is capable of.

Hopefully a move will see him regain the quality and boost his confidence which will no doubt see him have a couple of stormers against us!

He was arguably the best fullback in 2018 and 2019 playing for Salford. Since then he’s been average since. I can still see him running down one of our players in the play offs in 2018 thinking he’s the player we needed after Zak.

I can honestly say i don’t know if the he’s got pace anymore, we have either not played to his skills or more likely he’s not been there to take a pass on and run. He’s due across the back line in defence and isn’t anywhere near the game winner he was.

Personally I thought O’Brien was much better.

We messed up letting O’Brien go. He has always been a solid player and someone we could have really done with this season.

Nothing personal to him, it just hasn’t worked at all for either of us.
Works out like that sometimes, everyone needs to move on I guess.

It seems the Club has taken the view that Evalds is not delivering value for money on what is one of the highest salaries.

Can’t argue with that but I do worry the new approach of paying [players what they are truly worth will see us sign poor quality players.

I can fully see why we signed Evalds,he performed well for Salford,sadly he hasn’t replicated that form even when fit. Unfortunately that happens,for every Mcshane,Gale and Webster we’ve signed there’s also been a Feki,Vete or Rudder. I’m not sure what the ratio of duds to diamonds is but I dare say when you’re casting your nets in the waters we currently are you’re going to catch far more of the former.
