This weekend is my third trip home for a game. the last 2 visits were for Wakey and Leeds so i am bringing some Scarbados luck and going for a third win for me and Cas.

When you live away from Cas, then a visit every now and then is Fun, even a visit darnt lane win or lose is fun, then there is the Lion for beer and a band and a sagar street kebab.
Much better than watching scarborough Pirates with a sea fret chilling you to the bones

Well I weren’t going, but the daughter as no one to go with and I’ve a freebie, so I’m gonna bite the bullet and suffer the 80mins.

I agree with all of that,it's three and a half hours for me to Cas on a good day,five on a bad one,but Rugby league is in my blood, Cas are in my blood,the walk down Wheldon Road,decent fish and chips,beer with a head on...and most of all the atmosphere,the fans make it for me,they're what get me in the car on a miserable Friday night on the A1. I've always known that,from the dark days,even when we were winning and only getting a few thousand through the gates. We appreciate our club,back them to the hilt and I'm not sure our board have that appreciation for us. That's sad!

Like pretty much everyone else I've attended matches over the years and seen some proper cricket scores and still traveled away to Saints etc knowing what the outcome would be.

I've lost interest these days though, haven't had a season ticket in a long time now and I won't be attending this week. We had the chance in 2017 to really kick on and make a name for ourselves. The team was there and with a continued investment push from the BOD we could have easily secured ourselves as a top 3 team. That would have brought through more commercial opportunities and improved signings as we already had a team where players wanted to come and be a part of it.

Radford and in part the BOD have sent the club back 10 years. The signings made under him have been awful and we're paying a heavy price for it, that said there's enough experience in that team to get their heads down and do something about it but none of them other than the odd few have that desire.

Other than the odd loan or other signing I can't see us doing much more this year, somehow we need to avoid relegation and then Last and Lingard need to properly rebuild the team over the off season.

I have to largely agree with you Matt. I think through the dawns, false dawns and opportunities we have had over the years, watershed lines in the sand never to be repeated......!

They're odd feelings I have these days, I care, but nowhere near how much I did before.

I keep coming back to I don't know what I am believing in - what our plan is beyond make it through this season and hope! Is our strategy to grow our own, reduce directors loans, not spend but develop. I don't know what we stand for and so can't find anything other than where I was born and blind loyalty and that wears thin.
A lot of people their kids keep them into it, my two couldn't be less bothered.... so I have less to drag me back when I waver!

I was born into it.
Dragged there at 3/4 years old.
By the time I was 10 years old it was in my DNA, got my first season ticket then.

Had one every year up to lock down.
Thought hard and fast about reNewing after lockdown, but I’d already drifted away for the sport as a whole.
Radford being head coach did it for me.
The club is happy to just plod along, maybe every ten years or so we’ll get to a challenge cup final,
Can’t even see that happening any time soon.
Both my kids was brought up with the club at heart, both went to their first game at 3yrs old.
The oldest now prefers to go to hillsborough for the football.
Youngest loves the club but is also feeling disheartened.
As I’ve got older the body as got harder to drag to matches.
I’ll be going on Friday, only because the youngest as no one to go with, because the oldest wants to watch Sheffield Wednesday on tv same night.
Both are season ticket holders.

If the club arnt careful fans will find other things to do rather than go watch a losing side.

Firstly, I will stress, whatever may come across in this post, I make no attempt to defend those that currently run the Club.

However, I genuinely see no discernible difference between the Cas of today and that of the club I first started watching. A regular player but never the big hitters.

Perhaps 2017 gave us false hope? Just for once we looked like world beaters and not just our local team occasionally doing well and winning the CC. The reality is, it was our moment in the spotlight, never to be seen again.

I can only hope our current BoD's doesn't think the same or, more importantly, see a dip in the Championship as a way to make us feel grateful if we get back up. That is certainly what I felt upon returning both times in recent years.

Sadly, I've seen nothing in recent decisions that tells me the BoD's are striving for success.

Well thats my lucky streak broken, and the band in the Lion were crap as well.

Like a mug I stayed till the end and was a little peed off with the chanting, we know they are not fit to wear the shirt, but they are all we have got to try and avoid relegation.

Where do we go from here? Play the reserves in the cup and hammer the first team in training ?

I hate dissing individuals but i will make an exeption for Widdop, he is Peter Coyne reborn

Yup,I had the misfortune of staying till the final whistle too,sadly the beer in the Premier Inn is more suitable for washing your feet in than drinking so couldn't even drown my sorrows. At least there were no sharp objects in the bathroom!
