Hoping we get some SL friendlies in place too to give us a gauge of where we'll be.

I like going to Haven, but not on 29th Jan!
It'll be a big coat day.
Heard a predominantly reserve side will be playing the Midland Hurricanes on 7th Feb at the Jungle but not sure whether this will be behind closed doors or not.
Good win today.
38 4.
Sounds like the young half back Hookem had a good game.
I'm happy with the run out up in Cumbria and hopefully the squad has come through without injury.
These games may not provide the sternest of tests but I guess that's the idea. Match fitness without maximum risk.
FlatCapper I agree, I think they're a bit lose/lose for SL sides.
You win and "prove nothing" they're close and it looks bad, you get injuries and people question the worth!
Be good to be able to get a settled side out and have a solid start to the campaign and know our starting key players at least. We sort of had a bit of a mixed bag plan last year which seemed easy to read and didn't have a lot of threat out back, but granted we lost Evalds and were makeshift in the halves. Just ready for the season to start now!
According to radford all came away unscathed.
No injuries.
These games serve a purpose and give some of the fringe players the opportunity to show what they can do albeit at a lower level. Hookem and Broadbent were by all accounts stand outs which augurs well. Hopefully we can be more settled in the halves this year,Widdop and Miller certainly have the experience to guide a team around a pitch and will offer some of the creativity we missed last year. My glass as ever at the start of a new season is half full.
