Centre needed?

Does anyone else think we're desperate for a centre?

We're then done for recruitment this year.

I just don't think Fonua & Mamo is the right balance. Especially defensively...It's a weak area.

Has Jack broadbent signed? Is he any good, I can't remember seeing him play... Thanks

100% agree re: centres. Fonua & Mamo aren’t even close to being good enough for me. I like Turner, but he’s ageing & lack of mobility worries me. If Broadbent is coming I really hope he gets a run; the lad needs games at the top level. You only have to look at Corey Hall at wakey to see what young lads can do when the club plays them.

i see Jordan Turner & Mamo in the centres, with Eden / forimo / jason q on the wings, with fonua as back up for all 3/4 positions but i also think another centre would be great

Fonua and Turner would be my first choice centres I think. Hopefully Broadbent will come good and I do like Mamo with ball in hand, but he needs to improve defensively. He can be box office on his day though. I don’t expect anymore signings unless we get one or two out. Possibly O’Brien going to Leigh?

I hope Broadbent is coming,he's young,has potential and wherever he's been has scored tries. He might not be the instant answer we're looking for but in the right environment he could certainly prove a decent acquisition. Personally I'd like to see a proven centre come in on a short term contract but that would seem unlikely.

Five tries and four try assists from 27 appearances aren’t great stats from Fonua. I know the game is more than that, but as a left centre I think it’s reasonable to expect more than that.

My main gripe is around his defence to be honest. He gets his feet wrong far too often & is easily done on both the inside & outside as a result. He doesn’t have the pace to make up for this & costs us in tries conceded, but even bigger in metres made by the opposition. We could maybe carry him somewhat on the wing, but then why have Faraimo? I’d just really like us to make better use of quota spots.

Fonua is an awful use of a quaota spot. Not only is there the lack of output attacking wise and defensive errors as mentioned above but his handling error rate is up there with the highest in the league, 5th place overall i think. He just isn't very good.
