If you delve deep and read the minutes and statements put out by the disciplinary board it stinks more of incompetance than corruption,
Saints saw a gap in their logic and the club solicitor did his job. Saints were always going to win that case because Cullen and company would never alter a statement and be seen to be incompetent amd i doubt they are clever enough to be corrupt
Personally i dont have a problem with Saints doing that and getting Knowles off.
I dont agree with the sportmanship of the whole affair but sportmanship is rapidly being replaced with gamesmanship in Rugby League.
I will find all the stuff I read and post it but its a long boring read if you want.
Maybe its time to follw wendyball with a ban for a red, a ban for 3 yellows (I think thats how it goes, its ages since i watched that stuff) and only use an independant panel if the.re is serious foul play.
Where they get an independant panel from is a mystery, maybe a few retired aussie refs could do it on tinterweb
