I know I sound cynical, but I have been to see more plans and briefings over the years, I can't get enthusiastic about it yet. Feels like world peace, some etherical concept that I know is a good thing, but can't believe it until I see something happen.

I know less than Jon Snow so don't listen to me but I do think this will happen. There is a demand for commercial space, it's worth it to Axiom and I don't see why the Council would oppose any of it. I guess we will need new cones by now?

Planning App now submitted for both the ground and Axiom. Hopefully this is not just another dream phase and will come to fruition. We simply cannot keep saying we're going to do this...

FlatCapper The Supporters Steering Group were told directly by the developer that the money will be provided to the club immediately after the planning is approved by the council. We shall see...

I have seen the planning application / the plans & associated documents, which are extensive to say the least, lord knows how much that must have cost to put all those drawings & documents together. it states that a figure of 12.2 million will be given from axiom to add to the 2 million from the council to fund the development, now lets all prey again🙏🏻

After being at the "meet the directors" night easier this year when it was unveiled, I was getting more sceptical as they said in at the end of August. Then it fell back and back

Glad it's now in. And just to note, the GMI bloke there said if it got more expensive then the extra costs would be passed onto the Axiom build rather than not happen.

Also at 12.2m plus the council 2m. That's 14.4m a lot more than the 8.8m wakey got.

RaoulDuke The EA will respond to our mitigations. What they say will decide whether it’s a rubber stamping exercise. We haven’t actually altered much at all on the WR application, just said that much of what is required is not feasible so sadly i’d be surprised if the EA changed their stance on the back of that.

Maturecasfan Normally about three months. That's if it isnt called in for review by the Secretary of State but as this is an amendment to the Glasshoughton site and refurb of WR i'm not expecting that to happen.

So, if we finally catch a break we could have finance in the bank by Easter.

Having had a look at the comments, all positive for the ground but a few objections for the Axiom site. We need to mobilise and get plenty of replies in.

Looking at the object replies, I can understand the problem especially living on spittal Hardwick lane, but Axiom have added a strategic green space barrier, raised hills and trees. Adding the 15m to upgrade the motorway junction will also help.

RaoulDuke We (Steering Group) were asked by the club to suggest people prioritise their responses and support for the Axiom site - for the very reasons you've identified in your post.

I completely agree with your request for us all to mobilise and get supporting these applications!

A look through the document and the standouts are;

The number of mentions relating to Football (UEFA/FIFA and Football stadium advisory technical recommendations met, technical areas for the benches, artificial turf border around the pitch, access to stands being segregated) makes me think they have a Football team lined up as a tenant.

A significant increase in toilet facilities - we're talking each stand having more than the entire ground currently does.

Cantilever roofing for the main, WRE and Princess street stands so say bye bye to the obstructed views, Railway end remains open to the elements.

It looks like at the very least the cladding (dark grey, anthracite grey, black and gold) has already been ordered - the company providing it is specifically mentioned. Steels and concrete types are mentioned but no clear indication it's on order.

Getting another club sharing the facilities would help greatly but apart from the union team, most are a loong way away.

Leeds United reserves have played at wakey and the women's team play at York and tadcaster. So maybe a possibility there.

I couldn't see anything about the roof structures of wre or princess street been changed . Simply just reclading and replaces the roofs restricted views will continue.

Not sure about the roof but they are using steel beams in princes st Wheldon end that only need support at one end so I am hoping that we get a unrestricted view (cantilever beams)

Just looked at the planning and the ground upgrade has 4 objections.

One of them supports it but has ticked objects and one saying about they won't be able to see deer where the Axiom site is. So that's 2 crossed off.

In relation to the Axiom build, 30 objections so a lot short of the amount that objected to the building at junction 30 for wakey.

All in all its going ~~ok.~~~~~

Pat it's a matter of keeping watching the planning portal to see when they are viewing it. But should be between 3 and 6 months.

They can then approve the ground and then approve the Axiom site once they have paid the monies for the ground into an account for only that use.

One of the Axiom objections ends in "why don't they do up the current ground instead" a second one is complaining about how a stadium will ruin their view and the match day traffic will be dangerous, how are people this thick? 🤣

This is a facebook page actively recruiting people to post objections to the Axiom site and in turn denying the club the future it needs. As Cas supporters its time to get on the councils planning pages and post your approval of both schemes.
doing nothing is no longer an option, If these NIMBYs win, we lose our club as we know it , its that straightforward.
